Other Stuff, Open Access, Scholarly Communications: PLoS Computational Biology… Ten Simple Rules

Public Library of Science-Computational Biology editor in chief, Phillip E. Bourne has written, with other collaborators, a timely collection of “quick, concentrated guides for mastering some of the professional challenges research scientists face in their careers”, which were published between 2005 and 2007. These are now available on one site: “Ten Simple Rules” or also at http://collections.plos.org/ploscompbiol/TenSimpleRulesCollection_Small.pdf

A good example of how Web 2.0 technologies are blending information on the Web…. turn to SciVee to watch a videocast created in 2005 by Dr. Bourne, http://www.scivee.tv/node/59 (You may need to turn up the sound to “high”).

See also PLoS Computational Biology “Collections” page for other interesting links to Biocurators or Education.
