Other Stuff/News: Clocks from poodwaddle.com

Here is a unique free site: Poodwaddle.com. I found the “World Clocks” on this website to be compelling… when you view the live page (rather than the static screenshots shown below), there are running meters showing number of worldwide births, deaths, rates of infectious diseases, etc. You can order the display to show statistics by year, month, week, day or “now”. There are other clocks on Poodwaddle.com such as a world population clock, a worldwide clock showing 7 international timezones and one claiming to show the Number of Illegal Immigrants in the U.S.

Good visual information even though I (ever the dweeby librarian-statistician) cannot discern exactly where they are getting their statistics from.

On the “About” page, Poodwaddle describes itself as “A search engine home page you can customize. Create your own home page with a search engine, dictionary, thesaurus, encyclopedia, maps, calculator, games, and more”.
