Open Access, Scholarly Publications: Rewrite on PubMedCentral and Open Access

Many thanks to Judith, who pointed out errors in my post earlier this week on Open Access Journals, Public Domain and BioMedCentral. I apologize for the incorrect information in the previous post!

So here we go again:

Monday April 7 2008 was the official first day that the Open Access Policy set by National Institutes of Health came into effect. The policy requires that individual scientists who have received funding from government-sponsored grants – which resulted in research being published in peer-reviewed biomedical journals – to deposit that research into the PubMedCentral archive within 12 months of the date of the publication.

Click here for a list of journals indexed in PubMedCentral. Authors can read more information about submissions of manuscripts from this link (here).
